Application period for the academic year of 07/08 is from Jan 1 to March 15, 2007.

Candidates are encouraged to send their application as early as possible prior to the deadline.

 

Application Procedure

1.  Check the programs open to international student.

2.  Check the requirements of each department/institute.

3.  Complete the on-line application system and print two copies of the application forms.

4.  Pay the application fee through bank transfer. 

5.  Prepare for all required documents.

6.  Send or deliver the whole application package to Center for International Academic Exchanges by March 15th 2007.

Institute of Occupational Medicine and Industrial Hygiene

The Institute of Occupational Medicine and Industrial Hygiene was established in 1993. This is the first graduate institute majoring in occupational medicine and industrial hygiene in Taiwan. The mission of the Institute of Occupational Medicine and Industrial Hygiene is to advance the health of all people in occupational and community settings in Taiwan and around the world through teaching, research and service in occupational and environmental health.

Faculty members in the institute investigate causes, mechanisms and prevention measures of environmentally and occupationally related health issues, provide advanced education programs of occupational health with master and doctoral degrees, and provide scientifically based public health services to the public, governments, industries, and the labors. Research approaches range from the molecular to the epidemiologic, in physical scales of nano to macro, and by multiple disciplines of physical, chemical, biological sciences and economics.

The Institute focuses on complex yet important public health problems that require integrated contributions of many advanced specialties.

The institute's faculty, research staff, and students reflect the multidisciplinary nature of the field and include chemists, engineers, epidemiologists, ergonomics, physicians, molecular biologists, exposure assessors, and risk assessors.

Teaching and research activities of the department are carried out through six concentrations: (1) occupational medicine and industrial hygiene, (2) occupational and environmental epidemiology, (3) risk assessment, (4) environmental toxicology

genomics, (5) aerosol technology, (6) ergonomics.
